Resolved - Good morning all,

We are aware that on Thursday night, June 12, 2025, a significant disruption in Google Cloud services led to widespread outages across several major online platforms, with services such as Spotify, Discord, Snapchat, and Google services experiencing severe disruptions.

Google Cloud identified the root cause as an issue with its Identity and Access Management (IAM) service. The IAM service is crucial for managing access to resources within the cloud infrastructure. The disruption led to authentication failures, preventing users from accessing various services.
Google Cloud has rolled back the recent changes to the IAM service and implemented additional safeguards to prevent similar incidents in the future. The company continues to monitor the situation and is working on enhancing the resilience of its cloud services.

We are seeing providers report that services are restored and resolved. However, if you are still experiencing ongoing issues, please reach out to Yorb, as we can assist on an individual level.

Have a great Friday,
The team at Yorb.

Monitoring - Good afternoon All,

We are pleased to confirm that Chorus believes they have identified the source of the issue, and while they have not been able to provide an ETA, they have confirmed they have begun implementing a fix.

We are seeing Internet service providers report some connections coming back online as services are gradually rerouted.
If your connection is still down, you can try restarting your router, which may help restore connectivity.
Please note, however, that this will only work if your connection has already been rerouted by Chorus — unfortunately, we don’t have visibility on which connections have been adjusted.
But if you would like assistance with restarting your router, we will be more than happy to assist. Please reach us via 0800 600 606 if you would like to attempt this.

We will continue to keep you updated as we receive further reports.
Kind regards,
-Ben.

Please be advised that we have been informed of an issue affecting a fibre cable originating from Wellington.

This particular cable service covers areas including Wellington, Kapiti, the Hutt Valley, Palmerston North, and extends to Napier. Some providers are reporting that up to 90% of their connections are currently impacted.
At this stage, we are aware of disruptions affecting mulitple sites/clients:

We are actively monitoring the situation and understand that Chorus is investigating the issue.
We will continue to share updates via our Status Page as more information becomes available.
